Often times at Disney we find ourselves needing a quick bite to eat because we don’t have time to go to a sit down, but we also want something a little different from the usual Chicken Fingers and Hamburgers. Luckily Disney has tons of options for whatever you are craving, and today I share my 10 favorite locations to grab a quick bite in all of the Disney Parks (Sorry Pecos Bills and Cosmic Rays fans I love fixings bar too but neither made the list).
10) Tangerine Cafe
Located in the Morocco Pavilion in Epcot’s World Showcase, the Tangerine Cafe is a great spot to grab lunch and get a taste of Morocco. People often complain about the usual Hamburger French Fry menu in theme parks, well at Tangerine Cafe you can get some very unique items such as a Lamb Wrap, Chicken Shawarma, Couscous, and many other delicious options. If you are in World Showcase and want to try something a little different for lunch or dinner swing through Tangerine Cafe…you won’t be disappointed.
9) Sleepy Hollow
Sleepy Hollow is usually where you go for a sweet treat but around lunch time they have some amazing waffle sandwiches. One in particular got it in my Top 10 and that’s the Sweet and Spicy Chicken Waffle Sandwich. Plus being in Magic Kingdom right by the castle doesn’t hurt.
8) Cantina de San Angel
Cantina is the first on the list that has more traditional fast food types of food. Here you can find some very good tacos, nachos, or empanadas, as well as churritos for dessert and we always recommend a margarita with any meal if it’s an option! But what really makes this such a great counter service restaurant is the great open outdoor seating right on the World Showcase Lagoon, you can get some amazing views of the rest of the park without paying sit down prices!
7) Starring Rolls Cafe
One of my favorite hidden gems in all of Disney World. Starring Rolls is located off to the side of hollywood Brown Derby in Hollywood Studios on Sunset Blvd. Starring Rolls is a great place to sit back, relax, and people watch as people sprint down Sunset Blvd towards Tower of Terror and Rock N Rollercoaster. The best part of this hidden gem is the sandwiches. They offer huge ham and turkey sandwiches, they also have a sushi offering for those looking to switch it up, and a great selection of bakery items like cinnamon rolls, danishes, chocolate croissants, and much more hence the name Starring Rolls.
6) Liberty Square Market
This one will probably shock a few people. Liberty Square Market doesn’t have a huge selection by any means and most of the menu is just snacks. With that being said no trip to Magic Kingdom is complete for us unless we stop at Liberty Square and get a pickle and a loaded baked potato or sweet potato! They also offer seasoned corn on the cob that is delicious!!! Great place to stop and get a quick bite before you run over to Haunted Mansion!
5) Casey’s Corner
Casey’s Corner is a very basic restaurant serving up game day style hot dogs and french fries (along with a few other delicious options). However, this is a must do at Magic Kingdom, because for what ever reason that hot dog just tastes so much better when it comes from Casey’s and you can sit out near the castle and watch the hustle and bustle of the hub and main street.
4) Sunshine Seasons
Sunshine Seasons is the best counter service restaurant on Disney Property anywhere for a family looking for several different things. Do you want sushi, the kids want mac and cheese, and the spouse wants something more substantial like pork chops or Mongolian beef with fried rice? You can get all of that and MUCH more at Sunshine Seasons. The food is always very tasty and is grab and go style so no waiting around for your food to come out you just grab or tell a cast member what you want and head over to the register. Sunshine Seasons is located inside of The Land Pavilion on the bottom floor so you have the benefit of watching everyone come down the stairs running for Soarin.
3) Yak & Yeti
Yak & Yeti is a full service sit down restaurant in Animal Kingdom, but they also have an outdoor counter service with some amazing asian cuisine! They offer Beef Lo Mein, Mandarin Chicken Salad, Sweet and Sour Chicken, an Asian Chicken Sandwich, and my personal favorite Honey Chicken! Another benefit of Yak & Yeti is the seating area is located within ear shot of the screams of Expedition Everest, and right next to the monkey exhibit so have fun watching those crazy creatures play!
2) Yorkshire County Fish Shop
Depending on what mood I am in any of this could easily be the best counter service inside of the Disney World Parks. Yorkshire County Fish Shop is a small little stand next to Rose & Crown in the UK Pavilion of Epcot. All they offer is Fish and Chips and they really don’t have much of a seating area (there are a few tables on the water though). So what makes this place so good? They are some of the best fish and chips you will ever eat and when you are eating them in the UK pavilion they just taste that much better. Grab a Bass or Harp Ale and walk around the pavilion with a nice brew and some fish and chips…you can thank me later!
1) Flame Tree Barbecue
Flame Tree Barbecue is a very simple quick service barbecue joint, but they do barbecue right. One of my absolute favorite quick service meals is their pulled pork sandwich with baked beans and an extra side of onion rings! They have quite a few barbecue options from ribs to 1/2 chicken. Again a key theme in this top 10 is location and Flame Tree has it in spades. The actual counter service area is near the entrance to Dinoland USA, but there are several seating areas. If you walk to the left of the restaurant and follow the path all the way down you will end up at a covered seating area with fountains and wildlife all around you right on the river with a perfect view of Everest!
